Woodinchem
wood processing value chains- chemistry and bio-based materials
Brings together manufacturers, start-ups, the scientific community, investors and funding bodies

INITIAL CONSORTIUM
The WOODinCHEM project brings together a wide range of players: companies in the wood industry (upstream and downstream), university laboratories, technological resource centres, competitiveness clusters, local communities and regional development associations, etc.
Research organisations and technology institutes
The WoodinChem project brings together university laboratories with complementary expertise, covering wood science, chemical processes for biomass transformation, chemical engineering, formulation and materials science.

LOCAL ECOSYSTEM
The Wood Campus from Epinal campus – An international reputation
The Grand Est region is home to some of France’s largest industrial units in the wood sector, such as SIAT Braun for sawmilling, EGGER for particleboard and UNILIN or PAVATEX for fibre, as well as leading furniture and fittings companies such as Schmidt Groupe and ALPAGROUP.
It was in the heart of this industrial area that the Internatoinal wood Campus was founded over 30 years ago, bringing together the only public engineering school specialising in wood science (ENSTIB), two technology transfer centres (CRITT Bois and CETELOR) and three university laboratories, IJL, CRAN and LERMAB, dedicated to all the uses and applications of wood.
