Study of wood, knot, and bark extracts from oak and beech (EU) and Douglas fir (EU + USA + Canada) over the period 1950–2020

We present a dataset on extracts from wood, knots, and bark obtained from four forest tree species grown and processed in eastern France (Quercus robur, Quercus petraea, Fagus sylvatica, Pseudotsuga menziesii). The data were extracted from a review of scientific literature (59 articles). The data cover various tree tissues (wood, sapwood, heartwood, knot, bark) and provide information on (i) the extraction process used, the chemical composition of the extracts, and extract identification, (ii) the bioactivity of the extracts, (iii) extract metadata. All data are contained in the three export files of the Wood_db-chemistry database at a given time.
